About The Position

The Radiation Therapist is responsible for delivering external beam treatments accurately and efficiently, assessing and addressing patient needs during treatment, and practicing appropriate radiation safety procedures. This role involves accurate and timely completion of patient charts, performing complex treatment calculations, designing and fabricating blocks, and performing simulations with a high degree of accuracy and minimal supervision. The position requires a strong understanding of radiation therapy functions, including scheduling, simulation, patient set-up, and treatment delivery, as well as functional knowledge of department equipment.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited radiation therapy program
ARRT registration in radiation therapy required (or eligible upon hire and attain within one year)
Approved CPR or BLS certification required within 90 days
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Good interpretive/analytical skills
Strong organizational skills
Ability to perform multiple functions with minimal direction, independent of supervision
Complex problem solving

Experience as a radiation therapist preferred

Performs Simulation with a high degree of accuracy in a timely fashion with little or no supervision.
Utilizes appropriate scripting, barriers, and patient identifiers as required per position.
