About The Position

As our Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech), you will be pivotal in producing diagnostic images that enable Radiologists to accurately diagnose and manage patient conditions. Each day, you will perform a variety of imaging examinations, including X-rays, ultrasound, diagnostic fluoroscopy, CT/CAT scans, and MRIs, while actively contributing to a positive patient experience through direct interaction. To excel, you must deeply understand diagnostic imaging's critical importance, encompassing expertise in workflow, patient positioning, and capturing precise results essential for timely and accurate diagnoses.

Requirements

  • Diagnostic technologist with work experience in diagnostic radiology and competence in one additional modalities (CT, MRI, Angio, Cardiac Cath, Ultrasound, or Mammography), upon hire or 4-6 years
  • Or:Diagnostic technologist with 5 years of work experience in diagnostic radiology., upon hire
  • Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT, upon hire
  • Medical Radiographer: CA, upon hire
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates proficiency and competence in all aspects of diagnostic radiology, fluoroscopy, surgery exams, and other applicable modality.
  • Demonstrates competence in filming, processing, quality control.
  • Able to teach students and new technologists.
  • Demonstrates appropriate administering and monitoring of radiopaque material per Marian Medical Center guidelines.
  • Identifies and initiates accurate assessment of life-threatening conditions.
  • Assists in Imaging Services as needed, demonstrating competence in all areas or modalities assigned.
  • Demonstrates technical knowledge of all imaging equipment in diagnostic radiology, surgery, and other assigned modalities.
  • Places orders in HIS system, making all additions, corrections and cancellations as necessary.
  • Interviews patients for pertinent medical history and obtains consents on patients prior to performing studies as required.
  • Transfers and positions patients.
  • Teaches and assists students and new technologists.
  • Participates in departmental meetings, in-services and committees.
  • Responds to changes in work schedule as necessary.
  • Performs other duties as necessary.
  • Performs role of floor Supervisor when requested.
  • Demonstrates ability to run work area, order supplies and assign staff duties.
  • Performs as an instructor of technologists, students, and ancillary personnel on routine or special procedures as needed.
  • Troubleshoots equipment and cooperates with service personnel in order to maintain minimal downtime.
  • Responsible for initiating service on all equipment assigned to the area.
  • Acts as a reference for other staff members.
  • Practices radiation safety in accordance with Marian Medical Center policies and procedures.
  • Uses sterile technique and prevents cross-contamination.
  • Complies with safety, infection control, CHW Integrity Program, and other organizational policies. (90 day evals - department specific orientation checklists completed; annual evals - annual competency checklists completed)
  • Complies with the organization's dress code.
  • Arrives at work on time, as defined by the Timeliness and Attendance Policy.
  • Attends work consistently, as defined by the Timeliness and Attendance Policy.
  • Actively supports the organizations mission, philosophy and strategic plan.
  • Demonstrates good time management and priority setting.
