About the position

The R & D Product and Packaging Development Portfolio Manager at Bel Brands is responsible for overseeing product development and innovation for the Processed Cheese Brands, specifically The Laughing Cow, within the NORAM region (USA & Canada). This role serves as the primary contact for R&D at both the factory and corporate levels, ensuring projects are delivered on time and meet quality standards. The manager will lead a team, coordinate with various stakeholders, and manage the innovation pipeline while adhering to company guidelines and methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Bel Brands and Private Label projects for The Laughing Cow platform in NORAM.
  • Coordinate all Feasibility Requests for product development.
  • Ensure adherence to CSR and nutri+ program guidelines during development.
  • Deliver projects on time, in full (OTIF), and at the right quality level.
  • Lead the Plant Technologist and project team members in achieving project goals.
  • Ensure formula and process consistency and oversee product process transformation.
  • Coordinate packaging development with suppliers and internal teams.
  • Manage security, safety, and quality within the project team.
  • Provide technical coaching to develop team talent.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in product, process, or packaging development.
  • Management experience in a relevant field.
  • Background in the food industry is essential.
  • Proven track record in development project tracking.
  • Autonomous leadership skills with a results-driven approach.
  • International experience in a global company is a plus.
  • Fluency in English; French is highly desirable.
  • Technical knowledge of cheese processes and packaging materials.
