This role assists Quality Engineers and Associate Quality Engineers in coordinating and implementing quality control objectives and activities to resolve production problems, maximize product reliability, and minimize cost. The position involves coordinating with Test engineers to perform test inspections, performing audits on fuel, coolant, and oil filtration systems, and analyzing/validating test data and process quality check sheets. The Quality Technician will also process test deviations, support military inspections, and complete required paperwork for engine shipment. Additionally, the role supports tool and gauge calibration, audits calibration processes for efficiency, and performs audits on paint, tools, final, and preventative maintenance. The technician will investigate line calls to determine root causes, assist in OPTICS audits, and support monthly military customer audits. Providing accurate and timely data to the quality department, monitoring the calibration program, and keeping quality abreast of progress are key responsibilities. The role also involves implementing and ensuring good health and safety practices, assisting in developing and implementing quality audits, and promoting a compliance culture.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent or 5 years of experience in quality, industrial or manufacturing processes
  • Ability to work flexible hours or shifts

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of the practical application of manufacturing process and engine technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the production of internal combustion engines.
  • Knowledge of the dynamic performance requirements, test setup and monitoring, and problem resolution of internal combustion engines.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge of geometric tolerating and related gauge.
  • Proficient with PC and MS Office Suite.

  • Knowledge of MTU components and products.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Quality Engineers and Associate Quality Engineers in coordinating and implementing quality control objectives and activities to resolve production problems, maximize product reliability, and minimize cost.
  • Coordinate with Test engineer to perform the test inspections.
  • Perform audits on test fuel, coolant, oil filtration systems and make sure quality meets the standards.
  • Analyze/Validate the test data and process quality check sheets.
  • Process Test Deviations on Quality issues.
  • Support Military inspections and complete the required paperwork to ship the engine.
  • Support Tool and Gauge calibration.
  • Improve, audit calibration processes for efficiency.
  • Perform audits on Paint, tools, Final and Preventative maintenance.
  • Investigate line calls with assisting in the determination of root cause.
  • Assist in OPTICS audit verifying effective and repeatable corrective measures.
  • Support monthly military customer onsite and offsite audits.
  • Provide accurate and timely data to the quality department regarding quality concerns.
  • Assist in the monitoring of the calibration program through inspection of gauges and measuring equipment.
  • Keep quality abreast of progress, developments & pending problems.
  • Implement and ensures good health and safety practices are followed.
  • Assist in developing and implementing quality audits of production and operations.
  • Implement good housekeeping practices.
