About The Position

The primary role of the Quality Technician will be to interpret, comply with and improve MCG’s quality assurance standards. Essential to this responsibility will be the requirement to ensure quality assurance activities are documented, internal reporting processes adhered to, and regular audits implemented. The Quality Technician will identify any training needs and ensure the company-wide participation in the quality management system.

Requirements

  • Two-year degree (or equivalent experience) in S.T.E.M or related field or equivalent years of experience in the manufacturing/industrial industry setting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, decision-making skills
  • Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to interpret basic electro-mechanical diagrams including front elevation, one-line, manufacturing, and schematic drawings
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft office applications.
  • Must be able to use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), to include, but not limited to eye/ear/hand/feet protection.
  • May be required to regularly stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, frequently stand or walk around the work area, and lift or move objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Work responsibilities may involve manipulating small parts, using hand tools and repetitive motions.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and dexterity are essential.
  • Must be able to follow instructions and stay alert to potential hazards on the shop floor.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the assigned facilities.
  • Satisfactory completion of additional background screening.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of warehouse inventory management.
  • Knowledge of metal shop manufacturing and quality control.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance and continuous improvement standards, terminology, methods, and tools including ISO9001, version control procedures, non-conformance/corrective action processes, auditing, 8D, 5Why, PFMEA, Kaizen, process flow mapping, etc.
  • Knowledge of electrical equipment manufacturing, installation, and use.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, execute, and document inspection and testing of products to verify conformance with specifications and deliverables.
  • Assist operations team in tracking, documenting, and reporting quality levels for performance, corporate social responsibility, environmental, health, and safety goals and key performance indicators.
  • Investigate product complaints and reported quality issues to ensure closure in accordance with company guidelines and external regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor risk-management procedures using software and documentation to identify, investigate, and report issues to management and product development teams.
  • Identify and provide training and support to team members, focusing on systems, policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Support, participate in, or conduct external ISO, UL, or internal audits.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
