About the position

The Quality Assurance (QA) Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring food safety and quality at Pures Food Specialties, LLC. This position involves conducting sampling, testing, and documentation to comply with regulatory and customer requirements. The QA Technician is responsible for daily food evaluations, physical inspections, and compliance checks throughout the production process.

Responsibilities

• Conduct food safety and quality sampling, testing, and documentation.
• Participate in daily food evaluations to identify possible defects.
• Conduct weekly physical bakery inspections covering pest control, operational methods, maintenance for food safety, sanitation, and personnel practices.
• Select food items for analysis at specified stages in the production process to evaluate compliance with specifications.
• Perform pre-operational inspections and report any concerns to the supervisor.
• Utilize various instrumentation and measuring devices such as thermometers, metal detectors, X-ray devices, scales, and moisture analyzers.

Requirements

• High School Diploma with some college science courses or relevant experience in the food industry.
• Training in HACCP (Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Points).
• Training in a Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) standard such as BRC or SQF.
• Effective work ethic and good communication skills.
• Good writing, mathematics, and critical thinking skills.
• Experience in computers, including spreadsheets.

Nice-to-haves

• 1 year of experience in manufacturing (preferred).
