About the position

This position provides prompt direct support of the manufacturing floor via data from Zeiss CMM and other metrological equipment. On the Job training will be provided for the Zeiss CMM. A basic understanding of inspection techniques, ability to trouble shoot issues to potential causes, attention to detail and clear communication skills are required. A background in machining or an intermediate CAD knowledge would be acceptable as well.

Responsibilities

  • Perform metrology utilizing open setups, CMM, OGP, and other metrological equipment.
  • Maintain organized and accurate records for the department.
  • Conduct receiving inspection, first articles and part inspection.
  • Participate in nonconforming material reports, corrective actions, material review board, deviations, and engineering changes in compliance with BHMA and Allegion standards.
  • Identify and develop process improvements.
  • Apply analytical and technical skills to troubleshoot in process defects and field returns.
  • Recognize and solve routine problems that can occur in own work area with supervisory approval; evaluates and selects solutions from established operating procedures.
  • Comply with company standards and safety rules.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret prints required.
  • Microsoft proficient, Excel, Word and PowerPoint preferred.
  • Previous CMM/CAD programming or machining experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of GD&T and other engineering specifications preferred.
  • 1 - 2 years' experience in Production, Supplier Quality, Transitions or Product Development preferred.
  • Programming using Calypso with Curve Proficiency preferred.
  • Familiarity with Solid Models - Creo experience preferred.
  • Good grounding in analysis techniques, Statistical Process Control, Gage Capability Studies preferred.
  • Mechanical and/or electronic background preferred.
  • ASQ certification Quality Technician preferred.
  • Dependable and adaptable person who can manage changes in the work environment, along with the ability to follow instructions.
  • Can direct others to those instructions, monitors own work and others to ensure accuracy and thoroughness.
