About the position
The per diem quality specialist at NeighborHealth plays a crucial role in supporting the population health and quality teams by auditing patient charts to ensure compliance with clinical quality and payer contracts. This position involves reviewing medical records, documenting findings, and assisting with outreach and preventative screening workflows, all aimed at improving patient care and meeting quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Review charts for relevant information in support of performance in quality and payer contracts.
- Pull appropriate documentation from patient and outside records in a timely manner.
- Accurately document results and findings in appropriate tracking templates.
- Participate in meetings as required.
- Assist in outreach and preventative screening workflows as directed.
- Perform outreach calls as directed following existing workflows.
- Assist with mailings and tracking of results as directed following existing workflows.
Requirements
- High school diploma/GED and a graduate of a Certified Medical Assistant program.
- At least five years experience as a medical assistant in a primary or specialty care setting.
- Strong oral, listening, and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail and computer/EMR literacy.
- Familiarity with entering data into Microsoft Excel.
