About the position

The Quality Engineer at PlanIT Group LLC is responsible for leading investigations into product discrepancies, driving root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions to enhance product quality. This role focuses on reducing Scrap, Rework, and Repair (SRR) and minimizing customer quality escapes while ensuring adherence to quality standards throughout the product lifecycle. The position requires effective communication with both internal and external customers, including the Department of Defense, and collaboration with various departments such as Engineering, Operations, and Procurement.

Responsibilities

• Lead investigations into product discrepancies and drive root cause analysis.
• Implement effective corrective actions to enhance product quality.
• Achieve reduction of Scrap, Rework, and Repair (SRR) and customer quality escapes.
• Ensure quality standards are implemented and adhered to throughout the product lifecycle.
• Maintain effective communication with internal and external customers.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Operations, and Procurement on product quality issues.
• Support product safety and EH&S initiatives.

Requirements

• At least three years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience in performing root cause investigations and implementing effective corrective action.
• Knowledge of MS Office products (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
• Effective communication skills to prepare and deliver clear communications to all levels of the organization.

Nice-to-haves

• Four-year degree in a technical discipline.
• Background in ISO 9001/AS9100.
• Five to ten years in a manufacturing environment performing root cause analysis, mistake proofing, and project management tasks.
