About The Position

The Quality Coordinator is responsible for supporting hospital-wide performance improvement, patient safety, and regulatory compliance initiatives. This role coordinates data collection and analysis, facilitates root cause investigations, prepares reports, leads performance improvement teams, and supports ongoing readiness for accreditation and surveys. The Quality Coordinator works collaboratively with clinical, medical, and administrative teams to enhance quality outcomes and promote a culture of safety.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of regulatory and accreditation standards (egg:, Joint Commission, CMS).
  • Proficiency in quality improvement methodologies and root cause analysis.
  • Strong skills in data collection, analysis, and presentation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and EMR systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and critical thinking abilities.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and prioritize multiple assignments.
  • Postsecondary (Cert/Diploma/Program Grad) from an accredited school of nursing (Required)
  • 3+ years clinical experience in healthcare or quality improvement (Required)
  • BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire (Required)

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in nursing (Preferred)
  • LPN or LVN - Licensed Practical or Vocational Nurse - State Licensure in state of practice Upon Hire (Preferred)
  • RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure in state of practice Upon Hire (Preferred)
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support Within Facility-Specified time frame (May be Required-Facility Specific)

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and supports performance improvement and patient safety activities across the hospital and medical staff.
  • Conducts open record reviews, data abstraction, and timely chart audits for quality indicators and regulatory compliance.
  • Assists in development, monitoring, and evaluation of performance improvement plans and corrective actions.
  • Supports event reporting, root cause analyses, and data entry into event management systems.
  • Facilitates hospital and department responses to sentinel events and accreditation survey activities.
  • Maintains and analyzes quality data, prepares statistical reports, and presents findings to leadership and committees.
  • Coordinates quality initiatives related to National Patient Safety Goals and Core Measures.
  • Assists with Joint Commission, CMS, OSHA, and state health department compliance.
  • Leads or participates in performance improvement teams and facilitates related meetings.
  • Trains staff and develops documentation on new systems and processes to support quality initiatives.
