About the position
The QC Technician position in Newark is part of the Quality department and reports to the Quality Manager, with ultimate accountability to the Plant/Site Manager. The role involves preparing standards and vats for daily testing of SPIN disks, conducting performance tests on start-up and hourly disk samples, and performing physical/vacuum testing on pouched disk products. The technician is responsible for interpreting data and making necessary reagent adjustments, as well as investigating customer complaints related to SPIN products.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for preparing standards and vats used in the daily testing of SPIN disks.
- Conducts performance tests on start-up and hourly disk samples.
- Conducts physical/vacuum testing on pouched disk products.
- Responsible for interpreting data and making reagent adjustments as needed.
- Investigate customer complaints pertaining to SPIN products.
Requirements
- Minimum requirement of general lab work experience.
- Experience handling chemicals and using volumetric glassware, analytical balances, pH meters, and SPIN meters.
- General computer knowledge and the ability to use Microsoft Works and Excel.
- Excellent math (algebra) and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
- Ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Focus on tasks and ability to avoid distractions.
- Ability to transport up to 40 lbs.
