About The Position

The Quality Control Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the highest levels of construction quality and compliance throughout all phases of a major hospital construction project. This role works collaboratively with the project management team, contractors, inspectors, and stakeholders to implement and uphold the Quality Management Plan (QMP), ensure adherence to specifications, codes, standards, and regulatory requirements, and drive a culture of quality performance on site.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3–5+ years of quality assurance/quality control experience in construction, with preference for large commercial or healthcare facility projects.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective coordination with teams and stakeholders.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail in inspection and documentation processes.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
  • Familiarity with hospital construction standards, regulatory requirements, or healthcare-specific guidelines (e.g., NFPA, FGI, ADA).
  • Certifications such as ASQ CQI, ISO 9001, Certified Healthcare Constructor, or equivalent quality credentials.
  • Experience with quality management software and construction management tools (e.g., ACC Build, Smartsheet).

Responsibilities

  • Implement, monitor, and enforce the Project’s Quality Plan (PQP) and construction quality procedures.
  • Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and meetings to verify compliance with design documents, specifications, contract requirements, codes, and industry standards.
  • Review, track, and assure completion of Third-Party Inspections, quality checklists, and related documentation.
  • Identify big picture quality risks and issues; recommend and follow up on corrective and preventive actions.
  • Participate in Quality walks, pre-installation meetings, and first work installation reviews.
  • Communicate clearly and proactively with project leadership on quality performance, deviations, and resolution status.
  • Maintain and track planned meetings using Smartsheet DFOW log and coordinate with other team members to ensure its accuracy
  • Maintain comprehensive quality records, inspection reports, non-conformances, and test data.
  • Maintain and track issues using the Project’s quality platform ACC Build
  • Prepare and submit Monthly Quality Status Reports for executive review
  • Support document turnover and close-out requirements for final inspections and project handover, including coordination with Philadelphia Licenses and Inspections and Pennsylvania Department of Health
  • Promote quality awareness and foster a proactive quality culture among field teams.
  • Coordinate useful trainings for field and office staff related to upcoming work
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and facilitate lessons learned sessions.
