About the position

The Quality Assurance Repair Electronics Technician at Sunstone Engineering is responsible for ensuring high quality in all aspects of production, including evaluating incoming materials, overseeing production processes, and conducting final testing prior to shipping. This role involves both quality assurance and control tasks, as well as electronic repair, under the direction of the director of engineering. The technician will work closely with the engineering team to enhance product quality and longevity.

Responsibilities

  • Approve incoming materials by confirming specifications and conducting visual and measurement tests.
  • Approve in-process production by confirming required specifications and communicating adjustments to the production manager.
  • Approve all finished products by confirming specifications and conducting required tests.
  • Train production line staff in proper procedures and quality assessment of goods.
  • Return products for re-work if needed and complete documentation to confirm re-work.
  • Document and update inspection results by completing reports and logs.
  • Maintain measurement equipment by following operating instructions and calling for repairs.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.
  • Acquire knowledge of the product to perform accurate quality control.
  • Help eliminate products that are not up to standards and find product issues.
  • Test production/refurbished assemblies/systems for correct operation and compliance to performance specifications.
  • Troubleshoot electronic and mechanical failures to the component level and recommend repair actions required to resolve failures.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree as Electrical Technician or equivalent
  • 2+ years in a manufacturing electrical technician position
  • Excellent computer skills, including MS Office
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain and teach
  • Understanding of manufacturing methods and procedures
