About the position

The Quality Assurance Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting agency-wide program needs related to quality, policy, and training improvements for service recipients with developmental disabilities. This position involves on-site monitoring, auditing service documentation, and participating in Individual Service Plans to ensure compliance with state standards, thereby enhancing the quality of care provided to individuals with disabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Support DDD / DOE program needs focusing on quality, policy, and training improvements.
  • Provide on-site monitoring, support, and training at group homes, day programs, and other Pillar programs to ensure compliance with State Licensing and Pillar Care standards.
  • Audit service documentation to ensure compliance with State Licensing and Pillar Care standards and assist in continuous quality improvement.
  • Participate in Individual Service Plans (ISPs) to ensure quality content and DDD compliance.
  • Collaborate with Operations/Facilities on Safety Inspections and develop recommendations for improvement.
  • Perform quality checks on the Electronic Health Record (EHR) for data integrity and report findings to the Program.
  • Assist in the preparation of required programmatic monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
  • Conduct and report on internal investigations and deliver program training to address deficits and develop staff.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of issues relating to the field and service provision to individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Knowledge of analysis, evaluation, and reporting procedures.
  • Must be computer savvy with an understanding of MS Office.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to convey information clearly and logically.
  • Respect and maintain confidentiality.
  • Establish and maintain proper working relationships with program managers, consumers, caregivers, and staff.
  • Maintain a safe working environment.
  • Adhere to ethical standards, policies, procedures, and health and safety precautions.

Nice-to-haves

  • College degree in social work or nursing license preferred or equivalent work experience.
  • 1-3 years' experience in quality/risk management.
  • Extensive knowledge of and direct experience in the field of developmental disabilities.
