About The Position

The Quality Assurance Advisor will deliver the Annual Audit programme and carry out a range of Quality Assurance and Control activities across several sites, including preparing reports and making recommendations against a range of multi-disciplined (some integrated) activities and sub-contractors. Support the Quality Assurance Manager with all compliance requirements of the Business Management system; Support the development of both the Subcontractor and the Internal Audit Program on the project and corporate levels; Manage and Conduct Subcontractor and Internal Audits, as assigned, including planning, scheduling, reporting and findings management; Conduct quality interactions with subcontractors during their performance of maintenance tasks to ensure their compliance with the task requirements and the relevant contractual requirements; Carry out supplier pre-qualification capability audits and continued surveillance of capabilities; Provide advice and support to project teams on Quality Assurance matters; Provide Contract specific Assurance services, e.g., Project documentation reviews and risk assessments etc, where necessary and run routine and ad-hoc reports on audit performance, non-conformances, customer complaints and accolades; Close out corrective actions from client, sub-contractor or internal non-compliance / observation reports ensuring remedial action are adequate and Objective Quality Evidence provided.

Requirements

  • Formal qualification in Quality Assurance and/or 5 years’ relevant experience in a similar position using ISO 9001 / 45001 / 14001 management systems
  • Three (3) years of experience in auditing HSEQ Internal and external (suppliers / subcontractors) management systems
  • Lead Auditor/Internal Auditor Certificate for QMS ISO 9001
  • Sound knowledge of other business management system standards such as ISO 14001, ISO 45001
  • Incident investigation and root cause analysis qualifications
  • Knowledge of Classification society rules and regulations for Naval ships and/or experience in marine construction / sustainment
  • High level of computer skills (Microsoft Office, Visio, SharePoint)
  • Proven highly developed interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proven ability to collate, analyse and present data
  • Proven ability to comfortably work across a multi-disciplined environment
  • A sound knowledge of Business Management System auditing techniques
  • Current Motor Vehicle Driver’s Licence
  • Must successfully complete Babcock fitness for work / medical assessment to conduct work activities on a construction site
  • Must either hold or be eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance at the following level: AGSVA Negative Vetting – NV1
  • Construction Induction Card (White Card)

Nice To Haves

  • Third-party auditing experience in top tier certification bodies
  • Marine survey experience
  • Engineering qualification in Mechanical or Electrical discipline
  • Practical experience and use of continual improvement tools and techniques e.g., process management, kaizen, lean sigma
  • An understanding of the Code of Conduct of the Australian Public Service and the Australian Defence Force
