About the position
Lighthouse Therapeutic Services is seeking full-time Qualified Mental Health Professionals (QMHP-A) to assist in their Mental Health Skills-building Program. The role involves providing support to individuals in developing coping, problem-solving, and communication skills, while also coordinating with other service providers and maintaining client records. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in human services and a commitment to helping clients achieve their best selves.
Responsibilities
- Provide case coordination with additional servicing providers as needed
- Work with clients to foster the development of new coping, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Participate in the development of individualized service plans in conjunction with school settings, social service professionals, the youth and their families
- Implement service plans and monitor progress
- Maintain up-to-date client records and prepare the necessary reports in a timely and accurate manner
- Conduct and participate in case review and staffing as required
- Work as a member of a treatment team, in conjunction with other providers within the school, community, clinic settings
- Establish a good working relationship with other public and private agencies/services, and interface collaboratively with them
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Services or an equivalent discipline
- One or more years of experience working with adults
- QMHP Certification registered with the Virginia Board of Counseling
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Reliable transportation

- Master's degree preferred
- Specific knowledge in counseling ethics
- Experience in person-centered counseling techniques
- Crisis intervention skills
- Family counseling experience
