About the position

The QIDP Surveyor position is a full-time role focused on ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations in Texas intermediate care facilities. The surveyor conducts on-site inspections, investigates incidents of abuse and neglect, and assesses facilities' adherence to state and federal laws. Responsibilities

  • Conduct on-site licensure inspections and investigations of complaints and incidents.
  • Perform annual comprehensive surveys to assess compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Communicate findings clearly with facility staff and assist in developing corrective action plans.
  • Complete detailed inspection reports outlining deficiencies and recommended remedies.
  • Verify correction of previously cited regulatory violations during facility visits.
  • Perform quality assurance reviews of documents prepared by others.
  • Testify at hearings or court proceedings as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a human service field such as sociology, social work, or psychology.
  • At least one year of experience working directly with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations regarding long-term care facilities.
  • Ability to operate personal computers and software for report writing.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience assessing and implementing active treatment and health care services for individuals with disabilities.
  • Experience explaining and overseeing compliance with state and federal licensure regulations.
