About the position
The Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) position at American Senior Communities involves providing compassionate care to residents by preparing and administering medications. This role is essential in ensuring the health and well-being of patients, while also supporting fellow team members and contributing to a positive work environment. The QMA will work full-time during the night shift, embodying the core values of Compassion, Accountability, Relationships, and Excellence (C.A.R.E.) that guide the organization.
Responsibilities
- Provide care and compassion to residents, making a positive impact on their lives.
- Assist in onboarding new teammates and act as a supportive colleague.
- Prepare and administer medication to residents in a timely and professional manner.
- Respond promptly and courteously to call lights, bed/chair sensors, pull-pin alarms, and security care bracelet alarms.
Requirements
- Demonstrate C.A.R.E. values to residents, family members, customers, and staff.
- Successful completion of a state-approved training program in medication administration.
- Completion of annual medication evaluation with Registered Pharmacy Consultant or designee.
- Current CPR Certification.
- Current active QMA Certification.
