About the position

The QC Tech position at Neogen involves performing various chemical, biological, and microbiological assays in compliance with established procedures. The role emphasizes adherence to good laboratory practices and ISO guidelines, while also contributing to the development of new quality control procedures and participating in special projects. The position is integral to ensuring the quality and safety of products within the food supply chain.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine chemical, immunochemical, biological or microbiological assays according to Standard Assay Procedures (SAP) or Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
• Conduct assays related to R&D transfer products following appropriate SAP or SOP.
• Adhere to good laboratory practices (GLP) and ISO guidelines in daily activities.
• Assist in the development of new QC procedures.
• Support special projects assigned by the supervisor.
• Perform equipment qualification tasks.
• Participate in brainstorming sessions to streamline routine activities and troubleshoot manufacturing and QC issues.
• Meet individual and departmental goals and objectives.

Requirements

• Minimum Associates degree in a science-related field and 1-2 years of lab experience, or a High School diploma with some college science and 3 years of QC Lab Tech experience.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, work instructions, and Standard Operating Procedures in English.
• Ability to write routine reports and speak effectively in front of team members and groups.
• Ability to perform routine college-level mathematical operations, including statistical functions.
• Solid knowledge of computers and operating systems, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and PowerPoint.
