About the position

The Purchasing Agent at DiaMedical USA is responsible for supporting the Purchasing department by performing daily purchasing activities in compliance with mandated requirements. This role focuses on producing high-quality, detailed work based on established standards and procedures, ensuring precise and consistent output. The position is essential for maintaining the purchasing process and ensuring timely and accurate order processing.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and monitors purchase orders for assigned products ensuring compliance with contract terms.
  • Assists the Accounting department in reconciling discrepancies between purchase orders and vendor invoices.
  • Reviews open orders to ensure that all orders are processed through the ERP system as expected.
  • Monitors expected ship dates for stock and drop ship products to forecast sales.
  • Sources alternative products and/or suppliers for substitutions for long-term backorder or unavailable items.
  • Reviews vendor pricing lists for unusual price increases and prepares files for entry into the ERP system.
  • Works with customer service/support to ensure all necessary documentation from customers is accurate and complete.
  • Gathers data for vendor performance using metrics such as on-time shipments and product margin analyses.
  • Assists with timely and accurate drop ship order processing.
  • Conducts research on vendors and products as directed by the Purchasing Manager.

Requirements

  • Minimum Associate's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • 3 years of relevant experience, or equivalent of 5 years combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, including advanced competency with Excel.
  • Basic knowledge of purchasing policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Experience operating standard office equipment and preparing accurate records.
  • Effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working with detailed information and data.
  • Ability to adapt to changing work priorities and meet deadlines.
