About The Position

EMCom Inc. is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Purchasing Agent to support production operations at our Auburn, NY facility. This role is responsible for sourcing and purchasing production materials, managing supplier relationships, monitoring inventory levels, and ensuring timely delivery of materials to support manufacturing schedules. The ideal candidate has experience purchasing materials in a manufacturing or production environment and understands ERP/MRP-driven procurement, supplier management, inventory control, and production support.

Requirements

• 3+ years of purchasing or procurement experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems and production-driven purchasing
• Strong understanding of inventory management and supply chain processes
• Experience negotiating with suppliers and managing vendor relationships
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and ERP systems

Nice To Haves

• Experience in electronics, industrial manufacturing, machining, or component purchasing
• APICS or supply chain certification
• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent manufacturing purchasing experience

Responsibilities

• Source and purchase raw materials, components, and production supplies to support manufacturing operations
• Manage purchase orders, supplier schedules, and delivery timelines
• Negotiate pricing, lead times, and supplier agreements
• Maintain strong supplier and vendor relationships
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment to avoid production shortages
• Work closely with production, planning, engineering, and quality teams
• Resolve supplier, quality, and delivery issues
• Track material costs, supplier performance, and cost-saving opportunities
• Support ERP/MRP purchasing and inventory transactions
