About the position
The Purchasing Agent at Future Aviation, Inc. plays a crucial role in the Purchasing Department, focusing on order placement, expediting and tracking, price negotiations, and vendor relationships. This position is essential for ensuring appropriate inventory levels based on product life cycles and driving process improvements within the department.
Responsibilities
- Place orders and track their status to ensure timely delivery.
- Negotiate prices with vendors to secure favorable terms.
- Maintain and develop vendor relationships to enhance procurement processes.
- Analyze inventory levels and determine appropriate stock based on product life cycles.
- Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency in purchasing operations.
Requirements
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and internet search engines.
- Excellent follow-up skills and responsiveness.
- Highly motivated, organized, and detail-oriented.
- Ability to multi-task and manage changing priorities effectively.
- Strong work ethic with a sense of urgency to complete tasks.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment under tight deadlines.
- Basic understanding of aviation, aircraft, and mechanical terminology is a plus.
- Minimum of an Associate's degree preferred.
- At least 3 years of material planning or buying experience required.
- Certification in Purchasing/Material Management is a major plus.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in the aviation industry or related fields.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
