About the position

The Public Area Cleaner is responsible for maintaining cleanliness in various areas of the casino, including gaming areas, restaurants, bars, and restrooms. This role emphasizes exceptional guest service and requires employees to demonstrate professionalism, friendliness, and integrity while adhering to safety protocols. The position involves working night shifts from 3 PM to 11 PM, Saturday through Tuesday, at a pay rate starting from $16 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Promote positive guest relations by projecting a courteous, helpful attitude.
• Pick up trash, replace trash liners, empty ashtrays, refill paper/liquid product dispensers, assist with snow removal and furniture moving as needed.
• Wipe down and sanitize all surfaces, dust fixtures, clean walls and vents, vacuum, remove mats in bars and kitchens, sweep and mop floors.
• Perform heavy cleaning duties such as cleaning floors and shampooing rugs.
• Identify and respond immediately to any hazardous material in the work area.
• Adhere to all safety rules and requirements and all policies and procedures.
• Regularly provide information to management regarding guest reactions, comments, or problems that may arise and any safety/appearance concerns throughout the casino.
• Show willingness and effort to work as a team.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Ability to courteously and efficiently interact with fellow employees, management, and guests.
• Attention to detail including cleanliness and safety.
• Ability to move, transport, and operate heavy-duty or industrial type equipment such as vacuums, blowers, extractors, and rotary shampooers.
• Effective communication skills and attentive listening.
• Ability to respond positively to changes in locations, assignments, and priorities.
• Ability to move trash cart from work areas to unload in dumpster.
• Must follow verbal and written directions, policies, and procedures.
• Ability to lift, handle, and carry a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Ability to bend, kneel, stand, walk, and exert well-paced mobility during the entire shift.
• Availability to work weekends and holidays.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in janitorial/cleaning (1 year preferred).
• Ability to understand and communicate in English.
