In addition to customer service, the Perishable Associate will be tasked with various operational duties. These include receiving deliveries, coding products where applicable, and ensuring that items are rotated and stored correctly. The associate must maintain proper product levels across all areas of the Perishable Department, which includes meat, lunchmeat, frozen goods, dairy, and ice cream. The role also involves processing beef and grinds as directed, wrapping, labeling, weighing, and stocking the meat case as needed. Cleaning and sanitizing the department is a critical responsibility, as is maintaining variety and layout standards to ensure an appealing presentation of products. The associate will also be expected to understand and utilize company tools such as the average cost inventory system (ACIS) and ordering (CAO). Compliance with local, state, and federal regulations is mandatory, and the associate must adhere to Food Safety and Workplace Safety guidelines.
