About the position

The position involves supporting the psychological assessment and data management processes within a correctional facility. The incumbent will work under the supervision of a Psychologist, administering psychological tests, managing data entry systems, and maintaining various logs and records to ensure compliance with treatment plans and institutional security. This role is crucial in fostering a humane and secure environment for individuals preparing for reentry into the community.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and score a variety of psychological tests, including MMPI and Millon Clinical Multiaxial Inventory.
  • Implement and manage the Bureau of Prison's automated psychology data entry system, including training staff and routine data entry.
  • Maintain tracking logs for various mental health monitoring and compliance activities.
  • Prepare and distribute correspondence, reports, and meeting minutes for the Chief Psychologist.
  • Manage departmental expenditures, including preparing purchase orders and maintaining budget records.
  • Ensure the security of the institution as part of the correctional staff responsibilities.

Requirements

  • One full year of graduate education (18 semester hours or 27 quarter hours) in psychology or related fields, or equivalent specialized experience.
  • Experience in administering, scoring, and distributing psychological tests.
  • Experience in implementing and managing automated data entry systems in a psychological context.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and manage departmental budgets.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a correctional or similar environment.
  • Familiarity with psychological assessment tools and data management systems.
