About the position
The position is for a psychiatrist to provide locum tenens coverage at a non-profit facility that offers mental health and rehabilitation services to vulnerable ethnic minority populations in Los Angeles. The role involves working part-time, primarily during weekdays, and requires prescriptive authority. The ideal candidate should be familiar with the South LA region and may benefit from Spanish language skills, although this is not mandatory.
Responsibilities
- Provide psychiatric evaluations and medication management for patients of all ages.
- Manage a caseload of 10-12 patients per day.
- Conduct initial evaluations lasting 60-90 minutes and follow-up appointments of 30 minutes each.
- Collaborate with support staff to ensure comprehensive care for patients.
Requirements
- Board certification in psychiatry is preferred but not required.
- Prescriptive authority is required for the position.
- Familiarity with the South LA region is ideal.
