About the position
The Psych Registered Nurse (PRN) at The Brook Hospital - KMI is responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to patients in a psychiatric setting. This role involves assessing patients' psychiatric and medical status, administering medications, and managing crisis situations. The nurse will work within a multidisciplinary team to ensure effective treatment for various patient populations, including adults, adolescents, and those with chemical dependencies.
Responsibilities
- Provide assessment of patients' psychiatric and medical status.
- Administer medication and medical treatment as prescribed by physician.
- Assess, direct and intervene in crisis situations.
- Initiate and document special treatment procedures.
- Provide and direct milieu management.
- Document nursing care, treatment and patient's response to treatment.
- Provide health education to patients.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Licensed RN to practice in Kentucky.
- Current CPR certification.
- Nursing experience providing direct patient care.
Nice-to-haves
- One year inpatient behavioral health work experience.
- One year medical/surgical nursing experience.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
