About the position

The Property Manager at Silvercrest Senior Residences is responsible for overseeing the management and operations of the property, ensuring a safe and comfortable living environment for low-income seniors. This role requires on-site residency and involves a variety of tasks including property maintenance, tenant relations, and compliance with HUD policies.

Responsibilities

  • Implement procedures and tasks of building management as outlined in the Silvercrest Operating Procedures Manual and Salvation Army policies.
  • Manage daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual schedules for property inspection and preventive maintenance.
  • Oversee tenant certification and recertification processes, vendor selection, and small contracting.
  • Handle unit turnover and re-leasing, ensuring building and grounds safety and property appearance.
  • Train and evaluate staff, maintaining standard Silvercrest Office Hours and availability for after-hour emergencies.
  • Maintain complete and accurate property and resident files and records.
  • Communicate and coordinate regularly with local Salvation Army officers and provide required records and reports.
  • Represent The Salvation Army positively and professionally, maintaining relationships with residents, vendors, and staff.
  • Handle complaints and issues from residents, guests, or visitors with tact and diplomacy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned/requested by Silvercrest Management.

Requirements

  • 5-6 years of experience in affordable housing in the subsidized housing sector.
  • Knowledge of HUD policies regarding Section 8 Multi-Family Housing and experience with MORs and REAC inspections.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Intermediate or above computer skills required.
  • Experience working with the Senior Community preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bilingual in Russian, Armenian, or Spanish is helpful.
  • Experience with One Site management software or equivalent is a plus.
