About The Position

Barnard's affiliate Barnard NE, LLC and our new Northeast office located in White Plains, New York, is hiring Project Superintendent(s). Barnard is a heavy-civil construction company with projects underway across North America. Barnard is ranked by Engineering News-Record , a leading construction industry periodical, as one of the nation’s Top 400 civil contractors. Barnard NE and our Northeast office will strategically pursue projects, develop relationships, and expand our presence in the New York Metro area and Northeastern US. Barnard specializes in heavy civil infrastructure including dam construction and rehabilitation, power transmission and distribution, tunneling, marine, oil & gas pipelines, water and sewer pipelines, and environmental projects. Additionally, we are expanded into bridges, transit, and rail projects.

Requirements

10+ year of project superintendent experience in the New York metro area.
Must be willing to work in the New York metro area or Northeast area.
Extensive heavy civil construction experience, including but not limited to the management of all field operations on heavy civil construction projects including but not limited to bridges, underground, transit, and other types of heavy civil infrastructure.
Experience supervising multiple foremen/construction crews.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Strong work ethic; willing to do what it takes to get the job done.
Exceptional communication and leadership skills.
Ability to function as a team-builder/player.
Estimating and planning experience.

Nice To Haves

Safety oriented, 10-hour and 30-hour OSHA certificates are preferred.

Responsibilities

Schedule and manage construction activities, sequencing and the selection of engineering staff, crew workforce, equipment, and tools for maximum utilization and quality of work.
Tracks schedule and budget progress with project milestones and takes all action necessary to keep project on track.
Determines, controls, and maintains field discipline schedules and budgets.
Manage construction safety.
Manage environmental and quality compliance.
Understand / manage project costs and budgets.
Review, interpret and understand Contract Documents including specifications, drawings, and designs.
Work with estimating teams to develop estimates for large complex heavy civil project.
Review timecards and invoices for proper cost distribution and accountability.
Ensure all employees are current in and compliant with all Barnard safety policies, and have received required safety training and equipment.
