About the position

The Project Superintendent is responsible for supervising field construction projects, ensuring they are completed on schedule, within budget, and to the specified quality standards. This role involves leadership, coordination with subcontractors, and maintaining effective communication with all project stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in construction supervision and a strong understanding of project management processes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and establish effective working relationships with on-site staff to promote positive project morale.
  • Understand and review the General Contract, Subcontracts, contract drawings, specifications, and assist the Project Manager in developing on-site procedures.
  • Examine contract documents for design deficiencies and code violations, and communicate these to the Project Manager.
  • Assist in developing and refining the Project Schedule, ensuring it is updated and meets required dates.
  • Plan and review the Construction Program with the Project Manager, including quality control and safety practices.
  • Coordinate and monitor the activities of Subcontractors and Suppliers, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Verify that Subcontractors have completed all necessary requirements before beginning work on-site.
  • Ensure all required permits and safety notices are obtained and posted.
  • Direct inspection agency activities and address any remedial actions required by their reports.
  • Chair weekly coordination and monthly safety meetings with subcontractors, documenting minutes for the Project Manager.
  • Review Subcontractors' Daily Reports and approve as-built prints and monthly payment requests.
  • Participate in preparing monthly requisitions to the Owner and ensure timely reviews by the Architect's representative.
  • Review and approve time and material work vouchers and invoices.
  • Maintain good relations and communication with all project stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in construction and/or facility maintenance.
  • At least 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Experience with multiple construction and/or facility maintenance trades (e.g., painters, plumbers, electricians).
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities in operations or customer support.
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent business experience.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
