About The Position

The Project Manager is responsible for project management and leadership for the implementation of projects and processes to support the strategy functions of partnerships. The Project Manager may be called upon to initiate planning, execution and completion of a project including appropriate transition requirements to ensure sustainability of the results. This position supports data aggregation, trending and analysis functions for the department and leads projects related to those functions. This position supports the expansion of programs and partnerships and the governance structures for partnerships under direction of the Vice President. The Project Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of the project workplan for defined projects and will establish a measurement approach to evaluate the effectiveness of the implementation and realization of project goals. This position works collaboratively with all levels of leaders both within and outside of Lurie Children’s.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and project management experience required.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing complex enterprise intra/interdepartmental projects.
  • Excellent project management, organizational skills and developing change management skills.
  • Able to organize and manage a project from initiation to implementation.
  • Must possess excellent communication, leadership and organizational skills sufficient to work effectively and productively with physicians, staff, and external parties.
  • Must possess excellent judgment, discretion and must maintain confidentiality of information.
  • Demonstrated skills in the use of excel, power point, and other Microsoft Office products.
  • Excellent written and verbal delivery skills.
  • Excellent analytical and process/systems thinking skills; excellent problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the data aggregation, trending and analysis functions for department projects
  • Works closely with the Vice President in the expansion of programs and partnerships and in the management of the governance structures for partnerships.
  • Works closely with the Vice President on oversight for partnership management functions.
  • Responsible for the development and implementation of the project workplan for defined projects and will establish a measurement approach to evaluate the effectiveness of the implementation and realization of project goals.
  • Ability to work effectively with multiple levels of organizational staff from front line to senior leaders.
  • Facilitates and manages multi-disciplinary teams assigned to various projects.
  • Facilitates cross functional relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to align goals, strategy, and deliverables.
  • Anticipates and identify barriers and work with stakeholders and leadership to escalate and mitigate as needed.
  • Creates and updates timelines for the project as resource availability is identified.
  • Involved in developing communication plans of improvement/change efforts.
  • Effective communication skills to keep both the project team and the department leadership informed of project progress, highlighting any issues/barriers with possible solution plans, and reinforcing a team-focused culture for the project.
