Project Manager

About The Position

IntelliTrans is seeking an experienced, results-driven Project Manager to lead the end-to-end delivery of customer implementations of our enterprise Transportation Management System (TMS) and bespoke software development engagements. This role sits at the intersection of technical project execution and customer partnership — requiring a leader who can manage complex, multi-stream projects ($30K–$500k) while delivering an exceptional customer experience from contract through go-live and beyond. This is a hands-on delivery role. The right candidate does not simply track and report — they roll up their sleeves, dig into root causes, drive decisions, and personally clear the path to on-time, on-budget delivery. You bring deep SaaS implementation expertise, a command of Agile/SDLC delivery, and the executive presence to engage confidently at all levels, while never losing sight of the work that needs to get done.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of related experience, or Master's degree with 6+ years, or equivalent demonstrated experience leading technology delivery portfolios.
  • PMI PMP, SAFe certification, or equivalent project management credential required or willingness to get certification
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience directly managing SaaS implementations with external customers, including engagements up to $500K.
  • Proven track record of personally driving SaaS implementations to successful delivery — on time, within budget, and to customer satisfaction — across the full SDLC.
  • 3+ years applying Scrum and scaled Agile methodologies; proficiency with Atlassian Jira Software required.
  • Experience managing onshore/offshore delivery models; comfortable navigating time zone, communication, and cultural complexity to keep delivery on track.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Office/Teams, Smartsheet, and Jira for project planning, financial tracking, and portfolio management.
  • A problem-solver first: known for getting into the details when it matters, removing blockers, and making things happen — not waiting for someone else to fix it.
  • Exceptional communication skills — written, verbal, and presentation — with the ability to engage credibly from technical teams to C-suite, and to deliver difficult news constructively.
  • Strong critical thinking and organizational discipline; able to manage complexity, ambiguity, and competing priorities across multiple concurrent projects without losing control.
  • Customer-first mindset with a consultative approach: listens to understand, frames solutions clearly, and earns trust through competence and follow-through.
  • High accountability orientation, sets clear expectations, tracks commitments, and holds self and teams to them.

Nice To Haves

  • Direct experience with managing freight movement, intermodal transport, or Supply Chain Logistics within an enterprise SaaS solution, especially Truck or Rail TMS.
  • Able to make maximum use out of Smartsheet and Jira to manage teams
  • Experience managing projects involving the application of AI technologies a plus

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end delivery for TMS customer implementations and custom software projects — accountable for outcomes, not just oversight.
  • Develop and actively manage detailed cross-functional implementation plans; intervene early and decisively when scope, cost, timeline, or quality are at risk.
  • Identify risks and cross-stream dependencies; go beyond flagging issues by personally driving resolution — engaging the right people, facilitating decisions, and unblocking progress.
  • Lead change control with discipline: evaluate every change request for impact on schedule, budget, and quality before committing.
  • Manage project financials hands-on — budget tracking, forecasting, and earned value reporting — and course-correct proactively, not reactively.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customer project sponsors and stakeholders, building trust through transparency and consistent follow-through.
  • Run structured project reviews and executive-level status meetings that drive action — not just updates; surface issues early and present solutions alongside problems.
  • Coordinate seamless hand-offs across Sales, Customer Success, Operations, Managed Services, and Support; personally resolve gaps when cross-functional alignment breaks down.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable communication for non-technical customer audiences; adapt style and depth to the audience.
  • Lead Implementation Managers and delivery contributors through customer setup, configuration, UAT, training, and go-live — coaching and holding the team accountable for results.
  • Work shoulder-to-shoulder with onshore and offshore development teams, Product Management, and DevOps to resolve blockers in real time, not through email chains.
  • Build and sustain strong working relationships with executives, stakeholders, and resource teams; use those relationships to accelerate decisions and resolve escalations.
  • Champion PMO standards, SOC audit compliance, and continuous process improvement, including applying AI and automation concepts to project management practices.
  • Deliver concise, data-driven dashboards and status reports — including Earned Value metrics — that tell a clear story and drive informed decisions, not just document status.
  • Use portfolio-level metrics actively: to spot delivery risk early, reprioritize resources, and hold teams accountable — not to report the past.
  • Maintain consistent meeting cadences with customers, resource teams, and leadership; follow every meeting with clear owners, actions, and deadlines.
