About the position
The Scrum Master at Lighthouse Credit Union plays a crucial role in supporting Agile teams to deliver ongoing and incremental value in products. This position requires independent judgment and minimal supervision, guiding teams to focus on prioritized work aligned with organizational goals. The Scrum Master will foster a culture of transparency, inspection, and adaptation while coaching team members to enhance their Agile practices. This role supports a hybrid work schedule, requiring in-office presence at least two days a month.
Responsibilities
- Actively coach and educate on Agile methodologies and practices to build high-performing Agile development teams.
- Ensure team actions are aligned with the product team goals and vision.
- Demonstrate servant leadership by facilitating scrum processes and ceremonies.
- Leverage strong problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills to coach and mentor team members across various roles within a Scrum team.
- Help identify trade-offs between short- and long-term benefits to drive a shared vision between the team.
- Act as a shield from external distractions, protecting the team from interference and removing obstacles to deliver the sprint goal.
- Effectively communicate with all team members, ensuring information is shared clearly, promptly, and unambiguously.
- Promote transparency within the team and across the organization, building trust between the team and stakeholders.
- Foster an open, professional collaborative team environment facilitating healthy team dynamics.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement, helping the team regularly inspect, adapt, and enhance their practices.
- Ensure Scrum practices are effectively used and improved within and across teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required and Agile Scrum Certification.
- 4+ years of relevant work experience with Agile and Scrum.
- Experience using Jira and Confluence for work breakdown, tracking, reporting, and documentation.
- Significant experience acting as a servant leader in a fast-moving banking/financial industry environment.
- Deep knowledge of Agile principles and the flexibility to adapt experience to new and evolving environments.
- Knowledgeable about various Agile methodologies and experienced in coaching teams.
