About the position

This is a non-remote, in-office position located in Fort Wayne, IN. The Detailing Project Manager with Rebar experience preferred will manage complex projects with multiple detailers, products, and vendors from estimating to final completion. The role requires adherence to Nucor's safety programs and standards, demonstrating conduct consistent with Nucor's vision and values. The manager will review contract documents and drawings, coordinate detailing efforts, and ensure that products and services are supplied in the most cost-effective and efficient manner. Total contract management of each assigned project is essential, including coordination of detailing, scheduling, delivery, and costs of products and services utilizing the company business system and industry standards. The manager will oversee efforts to ensure that Nucor Rebar Fabrication fulfills contractual obligations on assigned projects and coordinate project requirements with contractors, detailers, and other stakeholders. Additionally, the role involves scheduling detailing and delivery, reviewing project changes, assisting in the change order process, interpreting plans and contract terms, and representing the company in project meetings. The manager will work with the Detailing Manager to control financial aspects of contracts while maintaining good customer relationships and will formulate reports concerning work progress, costs, and scheduling. Cultivating a positive customer service environment while maximizing profits for Nucor Rebar Fabrication is also a key responsibility.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to Nucor's safety programs and standards.
  • Demonstrate conduct consistent with Nucor's vision and values.
  • Review contract documents/drawings and coordinate detailing efforts.
  • Provide total contract management of each project assigned.
  • Oversee efforts to ensure contractual obligations are fulfilled.
  • Coordinate project requirements with contractors and other stakeholders.
  • Schedule detailing and delivery of required products and services.
  • Review changes to the project and process appropriate documentation.
  • Assist in the change order process and ensure customer acceptance.
  • Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to staff and customers.
  • Represent the company in project meetings as needed.
  • Work with Detailing Manager to control financial aspects of contracts.
  • Formulate reports concerning work progress, costs, and scheduling.
  • Cultivate a positive customer service environment.

Requirements

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience.
  • Demonstrated rebar project management experience or at least 5 years' experience as a rebar detailer.

Nice-to-haves

  • Ability to apply ACI codes and CRSI standards required.
  • Experience in customer relations and resolving problems or disputes.
  • Basic knowledge of contract law, standard business practices, and human relations.
  • Strong mathematical skills.
  • At least three years of experience overseeing detailers.
