About the position

As a Project Manager in Product Lifecycle Management at Abbott, you will have the opportunity to influence and lead our product lifecycle process. This role involves managing end-to-end product portfolio projects and standardizing lead product lifecycle activities, including product worldwide launches and retirements. You will facilitate key portfolio meetings as part of the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process, ensuring that product launches align with strategic goals.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage detailed worldwide launch plans for next generation products, collaborating with global marketing, supply chain, commercial, and regulatory functions.
  • Facilitate portfolio management reviews as part of the IBP process, summarizing key metrics, product/clinical program roadmaps, product launches, opportunities, and risks to franchise leaders.
  • Provide updates, escalations, and needed decisions to senior leadership.
  • Facilitate franchise configuration management meetings, driving key decisions around ZFIN creation, submission bundling, and ZFIN retirement.
  • Consult with R&D and on-market PMO teams on configuration strategy, language selections, and worldwide launch detailed plans.
  • Prepare project plans, schedules, and budgets using project management tools such as Microsoft Project.
  • Communicate project status by preparing standard status reports and participating in departmental and customer project status update meetings.
  • Resolve project issues by collaborating with team members, project customers, and others as appropriate.
  • Share project management knowledge and assist or mentor more junior project leaders in project management processes and techniques.
  • Interface with senior management on significant matters, coordinating activity across organizational units.
  • Participate in the development of other technical contributors by facilitating training and providing feedback and guidance.
  • May have direct reports and act as a mentor to less-experienced staff.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 8 years' experience in the medical device industry or project management.

Nice-to-haves

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (or equivalent).
  • Experience with leading projects.
  • Experience with product launches.
  • Experience with ZFINs and/or configuration management.
