About the position

Siemens Mobility is seeking a qualified Overhaul Project Manager to join our team in Lexington, NC. You will lead Rolling Stock Overhaul Programs within Customer Service and be responsible to provide and guide overhaul processes. The individual will have full responsibility for the execution of the overhaul program, ensuring all identified overhaul and maintenance tasks are completed within the required timescales.

Responsibilities

  • Implement a comprehensive overhaul program for multiple fleets in line with the Rolling Stock maintenance regime to achieve service and budgetary targets.
  • Create and deliver agreed upon specified documentation to support the Rolling Stock overhaul.
  • Ensure that all required maintenance facilities can carry out the overhaul plan within schedule.
  • Work closely with internal and external customer to ensure that the Rolling Stock and staff are available at the right time and in the accurate location for the work to be completed on time.
  • Work closely with the material logistics group to ensure the material is available at the right time.
  • Track work in progress, financial execution, and work with partners to mitigate risks to schedules.
  • Critically review the overhaul plans for the fleet, monitor and seek optimization opportunities for validation by engineering and relevant customer counterparts.
  • Develop relationships and processes with customer and materials logistics to ensure the performance and supply of the materials meet the requirements of the maintenance and overhaul operation.
  • Ensure vehicle configuration management is accurately maintained during overhaul.
  • Work with the Quality Department to deliver the 'Overhaul Quality Plan'.
  • Ensure successful claim with respect to any missing or damaged materials against 3rd parties during overhaul.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree. In lieu of Bachelor's degree, a combination of education and Siemens relevant work experience will be considered.
  • Experience in negotiating or assisting with negotiations on major contracts.
  • Previous experience dealing with suppliers and commercially sensitive issues, preferably within the engineering/rail sector.
  • Knowledge and experience with Lean Management.
  • The ability to demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of rolling stock maintenance techniques, processes and procedures also involving IT, planning systems and maintenance management systems.
  • Excellently demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, customer service skills and leadership skills.
  • Ability to travel 25% domestically.

Nice-to-haves

  • An Engineering degree with 5 years' experience in rolling stock engineering.
