About The Position

The Project Manager – Mechanical Services is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing mechanical services work from award through closeout. This role partners with Operations, Sales, and field leadership to build executable plans, align labor/equipment/materials, manage schedule and cost performance, and deliver safe, quality outcomes for our clients. The role is high-demand and fast-paced, requiring strong organization, clear written communication, and decisive problem-solving. The ideal candidate maintains composure under pressure, manages multiple active jobs, and is available to support urgent operational needs after-hours as required.

Requirements

  • 5+ years’ experience in mechanical services and/or industrial maintenance/turnaround execution.
  • Demonstrated project management experience leading multiple concurrent jobs in a fast-paced field environment.
  • Strong understanding of scope definition, scheduling, resource planning, and change management.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to interface professionally with clients and field teams.
  • Working knowledge of job cost tracking, productivity measurement, and margin management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; ability to produce clear reports and KPI dashboards.
  • Ability to be available for work outside scheduled hours as operational needs require.
  • Ability to manage shifting priorities and maintain organization and follow-through.

Responsibilities

  • Lead HSE planning and execution for assigned work; ensure operations are performed using safe work practices and in compliance with Colt and client requirements.
  • Plan, organize, and execute mechanical services projects (including field machining and pipe cutting) from kickoff through closeout.
  • Develop project plans, schedules, and resource requirements (labor, equipment, materials, subcontractors) to support safe and timely delivery.
  • Coordinate with operations leaders and field supervisors to sequence work, manage constraints, and adjust plans as site conditions change.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients on assigned jobs; maintain clear communication on scope, schedule, access requirements, and changes.
  • Manage project scope and change control; document changes, obtain approvals, and coordinate with Sales/Estimating for pricing and billing alignment.
  • Track cost performance, productivity, and job profitability; identify variances early and implement corrective actions.
  • Support development of competitive estimates and execution strategies to maximize revenue while maintaining profitability.
  • Lead project documentation and reporting, including daily updates, schedules, job summaries, and closeout packages.
  • Coordinate equipment readiness and logistics; ensure required tools/machinery are available, fit-for-purpose, and properly maintained.
  • Drive quality execution by ensuring work is performed to specification; facilitate lessons learned and continuous improvement.
  • Provide key performance indicators (KPIs) and project status reporting to Operations leadership and Executive Management as required.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and subcontractors; verify scope alignment, manage performance, and ensure adherence to quality, safety, and schedule expectations.
