Overview The Project Manager will join an AE team providing support in strategic project management, business analysis, process improvement, data analysis, requirements elicitation, implementation, and testing. The team is responsible for understanding the clients’ short and long-term vision, breaking down complex challenges into manageable projects, creating tailored solutions, and implementing and tracking projects’ progress and results. This team has a long track record of successfully managing processes and project improvements and operates in a collaborative manner, working together regularly to strategize and develop effective solutions. The Project Manager’s initial portfolio will be focused on IT projects which could include new software or hardware, process re-engineering, application development, or other modernization efforts. The portfolio of work is dynamic and will require stepping into diverse roles as needed by the client. The Project Manager will lead the planning, execution, implementation, training, and measurement of these projects and must be comfortable serving many additional roles (ex. business analyst, trainer, tester, etc.). This role involves collaborating with teams spanning multiple functions within IT (enterprise operations, networking, application development, records management, cybersecurity, asset management, etc.) as well as business units outside IT (Finance, Procurement, HR, Facilities, etc.). The Project Manager will drive project performance through effective stakeholder communication, data-driven decision-making, rigorous tracking of timelines, risks, deliverables, and requirement elicitation, management, and validation. Success in this role requires strong leadership, the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced federal consulting environment, and a commitment to delivering scalable, high-quality IT solutions. This candidate must be able to adapt and remain flexible; they should be comfortable both diving into the detailed, in-depth work of creating deliverables, and being able to present and communicate upwards at an executive level.

Requirements

  • US Citizenship
  • Ability to pass a background investigation and obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance
  • Must be able to work full-time onsite in Washington, DC
  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of ten (10) years of business analysis or project management experience
  • Experience in managing multiple complex and cross-functional projects concurrently across diverse stakeholder groups
  • Experience presenting and facilitating meetings with executive leadership, subject matter experts, and staff members
  • Experience with current and future state analysis, requirements analysis, and gap analysis
  • Excellent oral and written communication
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills
  • Strong strategic planning and organizational abilities
  • Experience with data analysis, visualization, and data-driven decision making
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a management consulting firm, particularly working with federal government clients
  • Agile Certification such as Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
  • Experience using project management software (i.e., Jira)
  • Experience creating data visualizations in business intelligence software such as Tableau

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Project Manager and Management Analyst across various types of projects and stakeholders (particularly within different IT functional areas)
  • Provide excellent customer service and liaise between clients, internal stakeholders, and/or external vendors
  • Support strategy and execution of process improvement initiatives
  • Manage senior stakeholder relationships and communications
  • Facilitate meetings to elicit and document requirements
  • Support business development initiatives such as client presentations and proposals
