About The Position

Reporting to the Director, IT PMO, the Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing the successful completion of a variety of complex IT projects with cross-functional operational impact for our Long-term Care and Home Health divisions. The Project Manager will be a hands-on leader, responsible for leading the full project lifecycle management. This position will be located at our Head Office in Markham, Ontario. Extendicare offers a hybrid working environment.

Requirements

  • Hands-on project leader, able to apply critical thinking, understand complex situations, and drive solutions that help achieve project objectives.
  • Highly organized, with superior communication skills and the ability to clearly communicate to various stakeholders.
  • Post-secondary degree in a relevant field; preference will be given to candidates possessing degrees in Business Administration.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Proven competence in using Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Teams/SharePoint and PowerPoint.
  • Critical thinker with a problem-solving focused approach; Able to make sense of data and use a data-driven approach to problem-solving.
  • Proven conflict resolution and negotiation skills with the ability to operate at a strategic level to develop and achieve shared goals and organizational objectives.
  • Collaborative and self-driven, with the ability to work well and communicate with individuals at all levels of an organization.
  • Team player who fosters a collaborative work environment, working with others to achieve shared team goals and organizational objectives.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and to pivot quickly given changing industry trends and priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Leading multiple simultaneous projects requiring a high degree of skill in prioritization and problem-solving.
  • Accountable for all project objectives, including vendor contracting and management, solution design and implementation, and communication and change management planning.
  • Leading stakeholder engagement activities and cross-functional meetings, obtaining buy-in from all key stakeholders.
  • Identifying all project risks and working collaboratively with internal and external vendor teams in developing and implementing risk management plans.
  • Communicating key project milestones, timelines, and updates to all key stakeholders across the organization from operations to senior leadership.
  • Building and maintaining professional partnerships with internal business partners and support teams, characterized by shared responsibility and success, open communication, and transparency.
  • Executing projects pertaining to CCTV, Telephony, network installations, Office 365, software deployments, and hardware refresh.
  • Managing electrical and low voltage drawings, new site construction, and budget forecasting.
  • Performing in-field project management.
  • Occasional travel to sites, homes, and new locations.
