About The Position

The Project Manager I in the Department of Procurement is responsible for supporting procurement projects to ensure timeliness, efficiency, compliance, and strategic alignment with organizational goals. This role supports procurement planning, execution, and contract administration while ensuring adherence to policies, procedures, and best practices. The position requires proficient project management, organizational, and communication skills to coordinate procurement activities, engage stakeholders, and drive process improvements. The Project Manager I collaborates with internal departments and external vendors to ensure timely, accurate and compliant procurement execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field.
  • At least three (3) years of experience in procurement, project management, contract administration, or strategic sourcing.

Nice To Haves

  • Public Procurement experience preferred.
  • Master’s degree
  • professional certifications (CPPO, CPPB, PMP)
  • experience with eProcurement systems or ERP software.

Responsibilities

  • Support procurement planning efforts, ensuring alignment with operational needs and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to execute procurement strategies.
  • Manage procurement execution from solicitation to contract award, ensuring timeliness, compliance and efficiency.
  • Meet procurement timelines, key performance indicators (KPIs), and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure proper implementation of procurement methods and best practices.
  • Facilitate bid openings, proposal evaluations, and contract negotiations.
  • Identify and resolve procurement challenges in collaboration with procurement leadership, legal and compliance teams.
  • Support process improvements and policy recommendations to enhance procurement efficiency.
  • Provide guidance and support to stakeholders on procurement processes and requirements.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
