About The Position

The Project Manager, Strategy and Operations supports the administration, coordination, and implementation of curricular governance activities, strategic priorities, and programmatic initiatives within the Office of Curricular Affairs and across the Department of Medical Education. This role focuses on ensuring that governance structures, processes, and workflows operate efficiently, and that initiatives are executed in alignment with established goals for the MD program. Working closely with departmental leadership and stakeholders, the Project Manager coordinates activities across committees and teams, maintains project plans and timelines, and tracks progress to support timely and effective implementation. This role is responsible for organizing information, monitoring deliverables, and supporting follow-through to ensure initiatives move forward as planned. This role reports to the Associate Dean for UME Affairs and works closely with the faculty leadership, and administrative stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 3-5+ years of relevant experience in project management, operations, or program coordination in a complex organizational environment
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and drive execution with minimal oversight
  • Experience in process improvement, workflow design, or operational optimization
  • Strong track record of follow-through and delivering results in deadline-driven environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred in higher education administration, public administration, organizational development, or a related field
  • Experience supporting or managing governance structures (e.g., committees, councils, or crossfunctional working groups)
  • Experience in higher education, academic medicine, or similarly complex organizations
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage operational aspects of governance structures (committees, subcommittees, working groups)
  • Coordinate meeting schedules, agendas, and materials in partnership with leadership
  • Document decisions and action items; ensure timely follow-through
  • Track governance-related actions and ensure completion
  • Manage day-to-day execution of projects and operational initiatives aligned with departmental priorities
  • Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and workflows
  • Monitor progress, enforce deadlines, and ensure initiatives move from planning through execution
  • Coordinate cross-functional activities and provide regular status updates on progress, risks, and outcomes
  • Support implementation of strategic priorities defined by the Associate Dean for UME Affairs
  • Translate strategic goals into actionable plans, timelines, and deliverables
  • Track progress and report on initiative status, including risks and dependencies
  • Identify and address implementation challenges to maintain momentum
  • Maintain systems to track decisions, action items, and implementation progress
  • Ensure clear ownership and follow-through across initiatives
  • Monitor progress and escalate delays, risks, or gaps as needed
  • Develop and maintain workflows to support efficient execution of strategic initiatives
  • Identify process inefficiencies within specific initiatives and recommend improvements to enhance effectiveness and outcomes
  • Standardize processes and documentation to ensure consistency and sustainability across projects and initiatives
  • Coordinate across faculty, administration, and staff to support alignment and execution
  • Facilitate clear communication regarding timelines, deliverables, and expectations
  • Maintain tracking tools, dashboards, and reports
  • Provide timely updates on project and governance activity to support leadership visibility
