About the position

The Project Maintenance Land Management Program Manager at Minnehaha Creek Watershed District (MCWD) is responsible for overseeing the maintenance of over 70 projects and 1,000 acres of land. This role involves understanding the function and value of these projects, forecasting maintenance activities, and implementing strategies to enhance the watershed benefits and aesthetics of the areas managed by MCWD.

Responsibilities

  • Understand the function and value of MCWD's projects and lands.
  • Forecast and implement maintenance activities for stormwater ponds, weirs/dams, wetland and prairie restorations, creek meanders, and boardwalks.
  • Maintain and improve the watershed benefits of MCWD's projects.
  • Ensure the aesthetic quality of the areas managed by MCWD.

Requirements

  • Experience in project management related to land management or environmental conservation.
  • Strong understanding of stormwater management practices and ecological restoration.
  • Ability to forecast maintenance needs and implement effective strategies.
