About the position
The Project Executive will lead and manage multiple construction project teams across various sectors including K-12, municipal, and private projects. This role focuses on developing client relationships, providing leadership, and ensuring project success through effective oversight and coordination of resources and personnel.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain client relations.
- Provide leadership and direction to multiple construction project teams.
- Develop team members through training, mentoring, and coaching.
- Work closely with Business Development and Marketing to identify and procure new projects.
- Advise upper management on developing new clients and bid strategies.
- Review and negotiate contract documents to understand requirements and deliverables.
- Coordinate interests of Wharton-Smith, clients, and third parties to ensure contractual obligations are met.
- Maintain positive relationships with project teams and promote cooperation.
- Supervise and review work of assigned personnel to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Provide oversight of financial reports with project teams to ensure project success.
- Ensure safety policies are reviewed and implemented before project starts.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Building Construction, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Ten (10) years of experience in construction, including estimating, project management, scheduling, cost control, and personnel administration.
Nice-to-haves
- Advanced knowledge of the construction industry and various project types.
- Detailed knowledge of construction processes for all contract delivery systems.
- Ability to read and understand technical and statistical data, construction drawings, and legal documents.
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated ability to think ahead and plan over a three-to-five-year time span.
- Strong problem analysis and resolution skills.
