About the position
As a Project Engineer at WSB, you will lead the design and coordination of roadway, drainage, and utility projects for both public and private clients. This role emphasizes collaboration with various disciplines within the company to ensure the delivery of high-quality projects and exceptional service. You will engage in tasks such as 3D modeling, roadway design calculations, and plan preparation, while also overseeing the work of EITs or Technicians. As you progress, you may take on additional responsibilities in project planning, directing, and coordination to meet deadlines and budget constraints.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and coordination of roadway, drainage, and utility projects.
- Collaborate with other groups/disciplines within the company.
- Perform 3D modeling and roadway design calculations.
- Prepare quantity and cost estimates and project plans.
- Assist with proposals, project budgets, and schedules.
- Oversee the work of EITs or Technicians.
- Communicate regularly with clients regarding project status.
- Coordinate with subconsultants to ensure project delivery.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a similar degree from an accredited institution.
- 4-10 years of experience in Transportation design with FDOT and/or Municipal clients.
- Ability to prepare, read, and understand construction plans and technical documents.
- Functional understanding of design software packages, preferably MicroStation and/or OpenRoads Designer.
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
- Excellent communication skills and a strong work ethic.
Nice-to-haves
- FL PE license or the ability to obtain it within six months.
