About the position

At Coffman Engineers, we serve as both prime consultant and sub consultant on projects large and small, including commercial, retail, institutional, government, industrial, and project/construction management. Incorporated in 1979, we have employees in more than 23 locations serving clients across the United States and overseas. To meet client objectives and to integrate our many disciplines, we can create teams comprised of civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, fire protection, and corrosion control, as well as project/construction managers and professionals in a variety of specialty services. We are seeking a self-motivated, creative Project Controls I in our Bozeman office who wants to work and grow as a team player within our multi-discipline firm. The ideal candidate individual will have a strong work ethic, excellent organization, attention to detail, as well as experience collaborating in a team environment. This position is not eligible for sponsorship. This position is not remote.

Responsibilities

  • Supports projects by providing accurate and timely project controls information and reports.
  • Provides support of project controls activities for projects including budget, schedules, expenses, and cost forecasts.
  • Maintains current knowledge of contracts, amendments, and change orders issued for various clients and projects.
  • Gathers, inputs, and reports cost information that will assist in maintaining projects, contracts, and agreements.
  • Maintains current knowledge and records of client specific safety and training requirements.
  • Develop project specific safety plans.
  • Maintains current knowledge and records of client specific operator qualifications.
  • Supports QA/QC process of client deliverables.
  • Maintain current knowledge and records of field equipment.
  • Supports field work activities by making travel arrangements and assisting in logistical support for field travel and site access.
  • Has a willingness to work in the field, if necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • AEC industry experience preferred in corrosion control, oil and gas, federal, and/or water/wastewater markets.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Understanding of how project controls relates to other company functions such as project accounting, contracts, QA/QC, etc.
  • Valid driver's license and driving record that meets Coffman's stringent requirements.
  • Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC) or eligibility to obtain a TWIC.
