About the position

The Project Architect at DES Architects + Engineers, Inc. is responsible for overseeing the construction documentation and administration process from schematic design through project close-out. This role involves leading a technical team, managing client relationships, and ensuring high-quality construction documents for various projects, including ground-up core & shell and renovations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee the construction documentation and administration process from schematic design through project close-out.
• Lead the technical team, including in-house staff and external consultants.
• Manage production of construction documents for ground-up core & shell and renovation projects.
• Provide technical expertise to ensure coordinated, high-quality construction documents.
• Proactively coordinate with clients, project teams, consultants, and contractors.
• Conduct construction administration activities including site visits, RFI responses, submittal and punch list reviews.
• Inspire, develop, and mentor architectural design staff.

Requirements

• Minimum of six years of relevant experience.
• Highly skilled in AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM.
• Knowledge of technical design and documentation of office, R&D, and high-rise buildings with working knowledge of California Building Codes and agency requirements.
• Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, multi-task and use time effectively.
• Strong interpersonal skills, verbal, listening and written, including graphic communication.
• Architectural License, State of California.
• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, or a related field.
