About the position

The Project Architect at Lord Aeck Sargent Planning & Design, Inc. in Detroit is responsible for leading architectural projects with a focus on Housing & Mixed-Use or Education and Science-related buildings. Responsibilities

  • Lead architectural projects from conception to completion.
  • Manage and coordinate the work of multiple disciplines, including a team of consultants.
  • Prepare project contract documentation, including writing and coordinating specifications with drawings.
  • Conduct code analysis and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Oversee quality assurance and quality control processes throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Engage in construction contract administration and manage client expectations.
  • Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to achieve project goals.
  • Participate in business development activities and contribute to the firm's growth.

Requirements

  • Professional (NAAB Accredited) Degree in Architecture.
  • At least 10 years of experience in an architectural office environment.
  • Registered Architect status is required.
  • Strong proficiency in Revit and production skills.
  • Experience with project contract documentation and specifications.
  • Knowledge of code analysis and compliance.
  • Quality Assurance and Quality Control experience.
  • Experience in Construction Contract Administration phase.
  • Excellent computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
