About the position

We are seeking a talented and experienced Architect to join our team to assist with a variety of ongoing and upcoming residential projects in the Bay Area. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with a dynamic team, focusing on architectural design, planning, and project management, while translating client visions into functional and compliant architectural solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and collaborate on the creation of architectural concepts, layouts, and designs for residential home remodeling projects.
  • Meet with clients to understand project goals, needs, and preferences, providing expert advice on design solutions, building codes, materials, and construction methods.
  • Produce high-quality architectural drawings and detailed documentation including floor plans, elevations, sections, and 3D models.
  • Ensure all designs adhere to local zoning laws, building codes, and environmental regulations, submitting plans for permits and ensuring compliance throughout the design and construction phases.
  • Work closely with engineers, contractors, and other consultants to ensure designs are feasible, cost-effective, and built to specification.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor project progress, ensure adherence to design intent, and troubleshoot any construction issues.
  • Assist in managing timelines, budgets, and deliverables for each project, supporting senior project managers in coordinating resources and milestones.
  • Incorporate sustainable design practices and stay current on emerging technologies and trends in the architecture field.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in architectural design and project management.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and other relevant design software.
  • Knowledge of local building codes, zoning regulations, and permitting processes in California.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating a variety of project types and design skills.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • LEED accreditation or other sustainability certifications (a plus).

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in residential projects.
  • Familiarity with 3D rendering and presentation software (e.g., Lumion, Rhino, Enscape).
  • Familiarity with construction administration and contract documents.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team.
