About the position

The Project Architect for K-12 and Higher Education at DLR Group is responsible for managing all aspects of project document development for complex educational projects. This role involves coordination with project team members to ensure quality work within established schedules, partnering with Project Managers to maintain project financial health, and leading cross-functional design disciplines to develop technical solutions. The position supports a hybrid work model, allowing flexibility between office and remote work.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of project document development for K-12 projects.
  • Coordinate with project team members to maintain work product quality.
  • Partner with Project Managers to ensure financial health of projects.
  • Lead cross-functional design disciplines in developing technical solutions.
  • Apply practice standards and maintain design and technical skillsets across project deliverables.
  • Ensure BIM standards are applied and QA/QC procedures are followed.
  • Plan, design, and coordinate projects of varying sizes using advanced architectural concepts.
  • Coordinate drawings and specifications with the specification writer.
  • Review cost estimates for design alignment and manage time according to the project workplan.
  • Communicate effectively with the project team and lead collaboration for design solutions.
  • Engage peers and specialty experts for holistic solutions and participate in client presentations.
  • Meet deliverable deadlines and ensure alignment with project budgets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or related field.
  • 6-8 years of experience as a Project Architect.
  • Proficient in REVIT and CAD computer modeling and rendering software.
  • Ability to travel occasionally to support project tasks.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without need for work visa or residency sponsorship.

Nice-to-haves
