About the position

The Project Administrator I/II at Cook Inlet Housing Authority (CIHA) is responsible for supporting construction and development project administration. This role involves managing contractor payments, vendor invoices, budgets, and ensuring compliance with various policies and regulations. The position requires collaboration with Project Managers and Procurement, as well as maintaining organized project files for audits and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Project Managers and Procurement to prepare solicitations.
  • Review contracts and ensure compliance with terms, insurance, and reporting requirements.
  • Process contractor payments, vendor invoices, and manage project coding.
  • Maintain organized project files for compliance and audits.
  • Support contract change orders and assist with smaller projects as needed.
  • For Project Administrator II: Oversee Fair Labor Standards compliance, attend construction meetings, and assist with drafting and managing contracts.

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of construction practices, materials, and regulations, including public and Indian Housing, environmental standards, accessibility, hazardous materials, energy efficiency, licensing, and permits.
  • Familiarity with NAHASDA, HUD regulations, and Fair Labor Standards.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic filing systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, business administration, construction technology, or a related field.
  • Equivalent experience in building/construction management may substitute for education.
  • 2-3 years of experience in a construction office environment.
